  1. We had a rocky start to this first episode, but we've since watched further into the show, and we actually like it a lot more than we did at the end of this video. We have a much higher opinion of the second episode rather than this one.
There was just too much "HEY LOOK AT ALL THIS STUFF, You like violence and big creepy doll, right?! This is what everyone wants to see, right?!" It just felt a bit much. but after watching ep 2 (thanks to everyone who made us give it another shot), we're a lot more invested in the characters and what the show is trying to say!

Hope you're subscribed for more Squid Game Reactions, cause it's all uphill from here!

  2. Yoooo didn't expect you to react to this. It's a pretty good show. While I don't agree that it's a masterpiece, since there are some parts that kinda annoyed me, but it's definitely a great show and I enjoyed it a lot. Hope you guys will like it too

  3. You asked if you thought it was fucked up that you weren't freaking out and I haven't yet seen any other reactions but nah, I wasn't shocked by it. Like I am 3 episodes in and I do like it, don't get me wrong but I really don't get what the big deal is. Like it is fine and I assume something must happen beyond where I am that is really cool or shocking for people to be invested but I thing that should be in episode 1 because honestly, if I suddenly couldn't watch it anymore, I wouldn't be heart broken about it. I'll keep watching but I dunno, each episode has been pretty slow for me so far.

SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 2 AND 3:
In episode 2 the characters mull around in the real world and I get it is to show what life is like and given them all a compleling reason to come back to the games but it had no impact on me because I knew where they would end up by the end of the episode. In episode 3, I was liking the characters more which is good and I liked how creative some were being in the game to win but I had no fear that any of the main characters would die, I knew they wouldn't as they hadn't given them their arcs yet. I am sure some of the main ones will die later down the road but I knew they wouldn't die here so there was no tension, just them licking a biscuit for ten minutes. I'll watch episode 4 tonight but I hope it picks up by the end.

  4. The advantages of Korean films are touching, social criticism, satire, reality, narrative, and acting skills. Therefore, no matter how much Japanese animation lovers promote Japanese movies, it is difficult to be successful like a squid game. Please realize the difference clearly.

  5. The thing about squid game is that the first episode hooked me, not through the red light, green light game itself but rather the character building they did. The game was very predictable tbh, however, I was impressed with the way they shot it. It made it so that even when you know what's going to happen it still manages to be brutal for the first guy. No electric zaps, no bombs, nothing fancy, not even a headshot. The guy gets shot in the gut off camera and that kinda really brings out the brutality in some way, at least imo.

Squid game is a LOT more about the characters than the games tbh. The games do get way way more interesting as the show progresses but the reason this is one of my favorite shows is because of the word building and character development they do with a lot of excitement (the games) and hardcore, unhinged brutality thrown in. They really did a fking 11/10 job in capturing a lot of those moments with their impeccable cinematography.
