  1. The square guy wasn't the room mate (or neighbour). 28 is the circle who's in on it with the original 29. What "it" is, I don't want to spoil for those who haven't yet watched the show. But the circles are the lowest "caste", the worker bees.

  2. "its not like they came here against their will"
uh, yeah no. Sang-woo was killing himself over his debts, Gi-Hun was going to have his organs harvested in a month and Sae-byeok's mother will be trapped in North Korea unless she can get 40 million won. NONE of them came back of their own free will, they were all forced back here because out there, they were going to die anyway one way or another. That's the whole point. The squid game is an analogy for capitalism. it's "optional" until it isnt. if you play the game, you either win or you die. if you break the rules, you die and if you dont want to play, you have the choice to die.

  3. Cannot understand the players in the game just assuming there will be multiple winners, let alone any viewers, let alone any youtube movie reactors. Born optimists, maybe?
Really, what made anyone just assume there would be multiple winners? I'm dying to know, like maybe I missed something? There may very well be multiple winners in the squid game, but as far as I've seen it's completely unknown at this point in the series.

  4. I still can remember in elementary school (like 2nd grade), being on a weaker tug of war team in PE, and we started to lose badly. I just so happened to be in the leader position and rallied our team by yelling at them to not give up and turning my whole body against the rope and pulling on it like a pack animal (probably not allowed in real tug of war). When they saw me refusing to go down without a fight, they got their spirit back and It was an epic feeling to watch our team of mostly girls and smaller kids pulling with determination as we beat a team of much stronger kids. I see that you've already finished the series, so this isn't a spoiler to you, but I'll still put it below in case others haven't finished…. SPOILER:
I totally understood the old man's comments in the last episode about how he remembered having so much fun playing those childhood games with his friends. It was incredibly thrilling to feel that rush after turning a defeat into victory, and being a weaker team that still manages to beat a stronger team.
